No Bleached or Bromated Flour We also prohibit the use of bleached or bromated flour in our food products. Bleached flour undergoes a chemical process that removes the natural color and nutrients, leaving behind a refined, white substance that lacks the beneficial properties of whole grains. Bromated flour, on the other hand, contains potassium bromate, a potentially carcinogenic additive. To promote better nutrition and support a healthier lifestyle, we exclusively stock foods made with unbleached, unbromated flour.

No Synthetic Nitrates or Nitrites Synthetic nitrates and nitrites are commonly used as preservatives in processed meats, such as bacon, sausages, and deli meats. However, these chemical compounds have been associated with an increased risk of certain health issues, including cancer. At our grocery store, we do not allow the use of synthetic nitrates or nitrites in any of the food products we carry. Instead, we encourage our suppliers to explore natural alternatives or to offer nitrate-free options.
